The Five-Minute Feed

By NORBERTO LABRADOR· [email protected]

When a local Atlanta TV station interrupts its morning broadcast with five minutes of a courthouse evacuation that has not happened, transmission engineer Marcus Ellery knows the signal was not a simple failure. The footage carries the station's own technical fingerprints, and the panic it creates begins moving money and public opinion before anyone can correct it.

Working with investigative anchor Erin Vale, Marcus traces the intrusion through archive systems, encoder logs, and a hidden maintenance path he installed years earlier. Their evidence points to a political strategist using the station to shake confidence in a courthouse district bond vote and make a private acquisition possible.

As the next false broadcast approaches, Marcus must expose the shortcut he kept hidden and force the real picture back on air before a manufactured emergency becomes a civic fact.

Marcus Ellery saw it happen first as a lie in the waveform monitor.
